Pandemic Timeline and Resources

On the 11th of March, 2020, the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic in response to the spread of COVID-19.

On the 13th of March, the Communicable Diseases Network Australia (CDNA) released a document called ‘Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines for outbreaks in residential care facilities‘. This document has everything you need to manage COVID-19 outbreaks in your facility.

The 48-page document can be downloaded as a pdf or a Word document.

It contains sections on

  • Outbreaks
  • The Legal Framework that informs it
  • The roles and responsibilities of residential care facilities, state/territory departments and the ACQSC
  • Understanding COVID-19
  • Preparedness and prevention
  • COVID-19 identification
  • Outbreak management

It also contains useful resources for your facility, including:
