30 January: WHO declares the novel coronavirus a global emergency, reversing an earlier decision from the 22nd of January.
29 January: Education departments in Australia release information for students returning to school.
29 January: Australia’s Chief Medical Officer, Brendan Murphy, reports that the novel coronavirus is contagious before symptoms show.
28 January: Bug Control’s Gilian Graham wrote about the novel coronavirus. It covers what the virus is, how it’s spreading and what measures should be put in place if you have a suspected case.
27 January: The World Health Organization tweets “The total number of confirmed cases of the 2019 novel #coronavirus reported from mainland China to date is 2,744. This includes 461 severe cases and 80 people who have died.“
